The Weekend

We went to my in-laws this weekend. The kids had SO much fun... okay so Shad couldn't have cared less, but the other two love it.

On the way the kids would ask me every few minutes "How long until we get there?" Then it turned into "How many more minutes until we get there?" Sometimes it had only been about ten seconds since they asked the last time so I'd have to get creative with the answer (I wasn't allowed to repeat the same number over again) "Umm, 37 and 3/4 minutes left." They thought it was too funny.

Grandma and Grandpa have a nice long driveway out in the country. So we un-hook their carseats and let them bounce around the last little while. Of course when we got here they both had to knock on the door.

Anson had to wear a "work shirt" (one with a pocket) every day we were there. He found an old suitcase to be his "work bag," a digital poker game to be his "palm" and a couple of old cell phones to be his "cell phone." He was all decked out and ready to be Daddy.

We also got to spend some time with my brother. It was great to see him. He just got home off his mission a few months ago and we haven't really had a chance to see him much. His roommate has a huge love sack bean bag. He was throwing the kids into it and bouncing them off of it. They had a blast. Everyone needs big uncles.

When we left Anson obviously didn't realize we were leaving to go home. We were putting gas in the car as we headed out of town and he asked where we were going. When I told him home he started sobbing. He wanted to go back to Grandma and Grandpa's house.
